EXO Kai, amidst his military enlistment, delighted his fans with a special video. In this vlog, Kai shares updates about his pre-enlistment activities, including the shows he’s watching, his first performance, and his solo track Rover.

Fans even get to witness the moment his hair is being cut before his military service. Kai officially began his mandatory military service in May. He will undergo basic training and then work as a public service worker. Interestingly, Kai’s enlistment took place in close proximity to EXO’s album launch. For privacy reasons, the specifics of Kai’s enlistment location and time were not revealed, making it a low-key affair.

For the uninitiated, EXO is a prominent K-pop group consisting of nine talented members: Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O, Kai, and Sehun. In April, the group celebrated their 11th debut anniversary with a fan meeting titled “2023 EXO fan meeting EXO Clock.”

Aside from his involvement in EXO, Kai is also a member of the sub-units EXO-K and SuperM. He made his solo debut in November 2020 with the release of his extended play, titled “Kai.” Furthermore, he has showcased his acting skills in television dramas such as “Choco Bank” (2016), “Andante” (2017), and “Spring Has Come” (2018).

Recently, EXO members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin filed a lawsuit against their label SM Entertainment, citing payment discrepancies and unfair contract conditions. The trio alleges that SM Entertainment lacks transparency in payment matters and imposes excessively long contracts, surpassing the industry standard of seven years. While SM Entertainment signs long-term contracts ranging from 12 to 13 years with their artists, they also require the artists to sign another exclusive contract once the initial term ends, resulting in extended terms lasting at least 17 to 18 years.

While the three singers assert that SM Entertainment violated the Fair Trade Commission’s correction order, the agency contends that the members are disregarding the Supreme Court’s ruling.
