Sony’s highly anticipated Project Q handheld device has been confirmed to be a portable version of the popular PlayStation 5 console. This exciting news was revealed in a recently leaked court document during the trial between the Federal Trade Commission, Microsoft, and Activision Blizzard.
In the document, Microsoft’s lawyers described the Project Q device as a handheld version of the PlayStation 5 that will be priced at under $300 in the United States. However, it’s important to note that this description may be slightly misleading. The Project Q device is primarily focused on Remote Play functionality and will not be able to run games independently like a traditional handheld console would.

Aside from its Remote Play capabilities, there is still limited information available about the Project Q device. It will feature an 8-inch, 1080p display and incorporate all the innovative features found in the DualSense controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. While an official launch date has not been announced yet, Sony has stated that the device will be released sometime this year. As we approach the second half of the year, we can expect more details to emerge soon.
