However, the highly anticipated third installment of the Munna Bhai series may not come to fruition. In a recent interview, Arshad Warsi hinted at this disappointing news, leaving fans feeling disheartened.
In an interview with India Today, the actor expressed uncertainty about the future of Munna Bhai 3. He stated, “Munna Bhai may not happen. This is an unusual situation where we have a director and producer eager to work on the film, an audience eagerly awaiting its release, and actors willing to be part of it, yet it remains in limbo.” Arshad Warsi’s revelation comes as a blow to fans who were eagerly anticipating the continuation of the beloved series.
Arshad further elaborated on the situation, explaining that director Rajkumar Hirani has yet to develop a flawless script for the sequel. “The thing is, Raju is incredibly meticulous. He has three brilliant scripts, but they have some minor setbacks. Until he is completely satisfied with the script, he won’t begin production. Whenever you ask him, he never says no, but rather says ‘I am working on it… once the script is finalized and I am satisfied.’ Once he reaches that stage, he will initiate the project,” Arshad revealed.
In a previous interview with Siddharth Kanan, Arshad expressed his initial doubts about his character Circuit and feared that it would hinder his career.
After the success of Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, fans were eagerly awaiting the sequel. While the first film was released in 2003, the second installment arrived in 2006. These films introduced beloved characters like Munna and Circuit, and also starred Gracy Singh and Vidya Balan, respectively.
Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi’s most recent project is the web series Asur 2, available on JioCinema, where he co-stars with Barun Sobti.
