BSNL Set to Discontinue Affordable Broadband Plans in Select Regions: Reports

The state-owned telecom service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), plans to make some changes to its broadband offerings. According to a report by TelecomTalk, BSNL will discontinue its affordable Bharat Fiber plan priced at Rs 329, which serves as the entry-level plan.

BSNL to remove Rs 329 broadband plan in several regions

The report states that BSNL will remove this broadband plan from several states across the country by the end of this month, specifically, July 30. This means that BSNL broadband customers will no longer be able to recharge their service with this plan and will have to choose from other available affordable plans.

The specific reason for discontinuing the Rs 329 plan in regions such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and more has not been disclosed by the company.

BSNL is known for discontinuing plans

BSNL has a track record of announcing the discontinuation of various prepaid, postpaid, and broadband plans. However, the telco doesn’t always follow through on these announcements, frequently extending the discontinuation date. The exact reason for these actions is unknown, but it could be part of their marketing strategy.

Likewise, there is a possibility that BSNL will postpone the discontinuation date for this plan as well.

BSNL broadband Rs 329 plan: Benefits

The Rs 329 broadband plan offers a speed of 20Mbps and a data limit of 1000GB. After exceeding the limit, the speed reduces to 4Mbps. The plan also includes a free landline with unlimited local and STD calling.
