The launch of Asus ROG Ally in India has been officially confirmed by the company, marking its introduction of the first handheld gaming device running on Windows in the country. This device, which has recently been released in global markets, is powered by AMD’s latest Z1 and Z1 Extreme CPUs, coupled with 16GB of RAM. However, the specific chip that will be utilized in the Indian version of the device has not been disclosed by the company. Notably, the Asus ROG Ally features a 7-inch full-HD display with a remarkable 120Hz refresh rate.
To create anticipation, the company has teased the arrival of the Asus ROG Ally in India through a Twitter post shared on Thursday. At present, details regarding the device’s price and availability remain undisclosed. In the United States, the Asus ROG Ally is available in two variations, each equipped with AMD Z1 series processors.
The model integrated with the AMD Z1 CPU is priced at $599 (approximately Rs. 49,300), while the AMD Z1 Extreme variant costs $699 (approximately Rs. 57,500). Asus has yet to announce whether both versions of this handheld gaming device will be made available in India.
Asus ROG Ally: Specifications and Features
Having made its global debut last month, the Asus ROG Ally showcases a 7-inch full-HD (1,920×1080 pixels) IPS display. This impressive display boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 500 nits of peak brightness, a response time of 7ms, and multitouch support.
The device is powered by AMD’s Z1 and Z1 Extreme APUs, as well as AMD RDNA3 graphics, and features 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It is also equipped with 512GB of NVMe storage. Running on Windows 11 out-of-the-box, the Asus ROG Ally provides an exceptional gaming experience with its ABXY buttons, two thumbsticks, a D-pad, bumpers, and analogue triggers.
Connectivity options on the Asus ROG Ally include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C port. The device is equipped with a 40Whr battery that supports fast charging at 65W. Additionally, Asus has incorporated a dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and an array microphone with AI noise cancellation technology. The dimensions of the device are 28 x 11.1 x 2.12cm, and it weighs 608g.
