Halifax offers Britons a chance to win £100,000 – check now to see if you could enter | Personal Finance | Finance
Halifax is a popular banking brand used by millions of people, but aside from its interest rates, savers could be in with a chance to boost their money. This is because the bank is offering a chance to secure winnings through its Savers Prize Draw. Each month, over 1,600 savers in the draw will be randomly selected to win money – and could wake up significantly richer.
Finally, savers are required to have a qualifying savings account with Halifax to be in with a chance to win.
The qualifying account must be Halifax or Bank of Scotland-branded and a personal account.
It does not include any balance in an account designed for children’s savings, or any account held for non-personal reasons.
The bank has said it is easy to register, with Britons only needing to undertake this process once.
This can be done in a variety of ways to create ease for the savers involved.
Individuals can choose to register through the Halifax app, Online Banking, Mobile Banking or by visiting their local branch.
Once a person’s details are received, they will be automatically entered into call of the following monthly draws for which they qualify – unless they ask not to be.
Entries are limited to one per person per month, and if multiple entries are received, then only the last one will be entered into the draw.
The draw is held each month during the first three business days, and then announced to the wider public.
Halifax explains: “Within one month of the date of each monthly draw, where we can, we will write to potential winners who have been selected and checked against our records.
“We will let you know how you can claim your prize, and in particular whether you must attend one of our branches, or whether we may be able to pay your prize automatically.
“To make sure you don’t miss out, it’s important that you tell us as soon as possible if you change your postal or email address.”
Before any prize money is paid out to potential winners, they may be required to show reasonable proof of their identity, age and that they were living in an eligible country at the end of the month before the draw took place.
The bank will let potential winners know what proof they need to see before prizes are issued.
Britons can expect prizes to be paid within one month of Halifax being able to contact the potential winners.
