The growth of Esports in India has been remarkable, providing players from all over the country with international exposure. This exposure is now extending to female players as well. In a recent announcement, it was revealed that an all-female CS:GO team from India will be making their debut at an international event this month.
India’s CS:GO Female Team Competing in Riyadh Asian Qualifiers for WEC
That’s right, India’s all-female CS:GO team is currently competing in the Asian Qualifiers for the 15th World Esports Championship in Riyadh. This head-to-head competition started on July 15 and will continue until July 17. Take a look at the members of the CS:GO team representing India in this prestigious competition:

- Nidhi Salekar (Stormyy)
- Shagufta Iqbal (Xyaa)
- Dilraj Kaur Matharu (COCO)
- Aastha Nangia (Crackshot)
In the Asian Qualifiers, the Indian team will face Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia on Day 1, and Hong Kong China and Australia on Day 2 in Best of 1 matches. Out of these 5 teams, only 2 will qualify for the 15th World Esports Championship, with the first-place team winning $3,500 and the second-place team receiving $2,000. The Indian team had to defeat Sri Lanka in the National Esports Championships 2023 to reach the Asian Qualifiers.
Speaking of the Indian Contingent participating in the 15th WEC, the Indian DOTA 2 team is no longer in the running after losing to Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, and the Philippines. The male CS:GO team has just started their competition, and Abinav Tejan (Tekken 7 professional) and Ibrahim Gulrez (eFootball athlete) have already qualified for the 15th WEC.
