The Galaxy Watch 6 is rumored to come equipped with Samsung’s new Exynos W930 chip, which will bring both power and efficiency improvements. Additionally, this chip is expected to have native support for an LTE modem. To enhance durability, the Galaxy Watch 6 may also feature sapphire glass for added protection against scratches. Like its predecessors, the smartwatch will have a water resistance rating of 5ATM.
Aside from these hardware upgrades, Samsung has confirmed the inclusion of Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications (IHRNs) in its upcoming smartwatches. Initially, this feature will only be available in the U.S. and South Korea, with a wider release planned in the future.
Interestingly, there have been no leaks or mentions of a Galaxy Watch Pro model this time around. Although unconfirmed, it appears that a Samsung Galaxy Watch “Pro” edition might not be released. Instead, the Galaxy Watch Classic is expected to serve as the successor to the Galaxy Watch Pro, available in 43mm and 47mm sizes.
