A new release of the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator’s mainline build is now available, bringing with it performance enhancements for various titles and more.
Mainline Build 1476 includes a modification to RDTC overhead, resulting in a 50% improvement in the performance of CPU-bound games ranging from 1% to 5%. Regrettably, the update notes do not specify which games will benefit the most from this change.
In addition, the new Yuzu Mainline Build introduces an option to bypass barriers on feedback loops. This feature may resolve crashing issues in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which emerged after an emulator fix for the Ultrahand projection was implemented on certain systems. More details about the update can be found below.
Following the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom last month, the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator has undergone multiple updates to enhance emulation and performance, enabling players to enjoy the game on PCs capable of handling 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. However, even on the Nintendo Switch platform itself, Tears of the Kingdom remains an exceptional game, as highlighted by Nathan in his review.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom adheres closely to the formula established by its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, it surpasses its predecessor in several meaningful ways, offering a more intricate world, versatile abilities, an epic story, and satisfying dungeons. While it may not be quite as astonishing or magical as its forerunner due to the familiarity of the Hyrule setting and a few challenging sections, there is no doubt that the wait has been worthwhile. While it might be advantageous for Nintendo to explore a completely new Legend in the future, Link’s latest adventure should satisfy most fans in the meantime.
You can download the latest mainline build of the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator from its official website.
