Recently, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) candidate from Tamulpur, Rangja Khungur Basumatary alias Ram Das, announced that he was joining the BJP.

Synopsis

BPF chief Hangrama Mohilary addressed a rally in Tamulpur on Friday without the presence of the candidate and said the party “will continue to fight the polls”.

Political parties in Assam are already contemplating on how to protect their elected candidates from poaching by rival camps after the polls.

Recently, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) candidate from Tamulpur, Rangja Khungur Basumatary alias Ram Das, announced that he was joining the BJP.

While he made the switch ahead of voting which was on Tuesday in the constituency, the development has triggered a discussion among the political parties
