The newly released expansion from Pokémon TCG Japan, titled Ruler of the Black Flame, showcases Full Art Trainers such as Geeta, Ortega, and more.
Pokémon TCG Japan has recently unveiled its latest Scarlet & Violet-era expansion, Ruler of the Black Flame. This Charizard-themed set, released on July 28th, contains 108 cards (excluding Secret Rare cards). Notably, this expansion introduces Tera Pokémon with a unique typing, as seen in Dark-type Tera Charizard ex, Fire-type Tera Eiscue ex, and Electric-type Tera Tyranitar ex. It has been confirmed that Ruler of the Black Flame will contribute to Scarlet & Violet – Obsidian Flames, the English-language Pokémon TCG set for August 2023. Additionally, this set will incorporate cards from upcoming Japanese ex Starter Decks and other Japanese sets released this year. Ruler of the Black Flame introduces four new Full Art Trainer Supporters to the Pokémon TCG. These include:

- Ortega Full Art Trainer Supporter by Naoki Saito
- Poppy Full Art Trainer Supporter by yuu
- Ryme Full Art Trainer Supporter by nagimiso
In the current era, Secret Rare Trainers have gained significant attention compared to Pokémon cards, with the exception of the Charizard cards in this set. Full Art Trainers are currently in demand, but they are not as sought-after as Special Illustration Rare Trainers, which have been the prized cards in most Scarlet & Violet-era sets thus far.
