Pre-Order Alert: PS5 India Restock Featuring God of War Ragnarök Bundle to Launch on February 7

The restock of PS5 in February is scheduled for Tuesday, and it’s an exceptional one. Sony has announced that the latest batch of pre-orders for their current-gen console in India will go live on February 7 at 12 pm. Unlike the previous months, where gamers were forced to buy a PS5 Horizon Forbidden West bundle regardless of the PS5 variant, the company is now providing alternatives to choose from. This time, Sony will sell the disc version of the PS5 as a standalone purchase, along with a God of War Ragnarök bundle. It’s worth noting that the prices have been revised after a price increase in November, with the base PS5 now priced at Rs. 54,990.

The God of War Ragnarök bundle is priced at Rs. 59,390, which is Rs. 5,400 more than the Horizon Forbidden West bundle that cost Rs. 53,990 in August. In November, Sony India increased the prices of its current-gen console by 12.5 percent, resulting in the updated higher price point for the bundles. The standalone PS5 Digital Edition now costs Rs. 44,990, while the disc version of the PS5 is priced at Rs. 54,990, as mentioned earlier. Fortunately, the prices of accessories remain unaffected. God of War Ragnarök received positive reception from fans and critics for its epic-scale storytelling and improved combat compared to the original. The game won six awards at The Game Awards 2022, with Elden Ring beating it to win the Game of the Year award.

Although retailers have not provided specific details about the bundle, games analyst Rishi Alwani informed Gadgets 360 that it is expected to include a digital download code for the bundled game. The pre-order banners and advertisements are currently up on Reliance Digital, e2z Store, and the Sony Center website. Based on past experience, PS5s are also expected to be available for pre-order on Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Gameloot, and Vijay Sales. Despite PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan’s assurance last month that the PS5 supply shortage would not be an issue moving forward, there is no guarantee that it applies to India as well. Therefore, it is advisable to be prepared on the pre-order date as consoles tend to sell out quickly, resembling a flash sale on a first-come-first-serve basis.

In addition, enthusiasts can now purchase PS5’s DualSense Edge controllers, which are essentially Sony’s delayed response to Xbox’s Elite Series of gamepads. Priced at Rs. 18,990, they offer a range of customizable options, such as button remapping, thumb stick cap swapping, and creating separate profile settings for easy switching between games.

According to ShopatSC, if you manage to pre-order a console, it should start shipping around February 21. The site also includes a COVID-19 disclaimer stating that there may be delays depending on lockdown or curfew rules in certain locations. “The product delivery will depend on your location,” it adds.
