Queen Camilla wears unique ‘ballerina’ brooch worth £72k as she presents dance award

On November 16, the ever stylish Queen Camilla presented The Royal Academy of Dance’s Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award to Mikhail Baryshnikov. She wore a stunning brooch from her favourite jewellery brand.

Queen Camilla opted for a particular Van Cleef & Arpels accessory today for her latest engagement.

This was the Bouton d’or Ballerina Clip in 18k yellow gold, diamond, lapis lazuli and turquoise.

The wildly intricate brooch was in the shape of a ballerina, who boasted a tiny headband and colourful dress.

This was a wonderful choice of brooch from Camilla’s vast collection, considering the nature of the event.

The brooch is far from cheap, costing an astonishing £72,000.

But the designer clip is far from cheap, retailed at an astonishing £72,000.

Its official description reads: “The Bouton d’or collection is inspired by the curved lines of the paillette motif, a jewellery design created by Van Cleef & Arpels in the late 1930s.

“Reinterpreted today, it lends itself to plays of association and colour to create feminine necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings.”

But this wasn’t the only incredible Van Cleef & Arpels piece the Queen Consort was wearing today.

She also donned her trusty Vintage Alhambra bracelet, boasting five blue four-leaf clover motifs.

Camilla’s exact bracelet is not currently online, however the Mother-of-Pearl version costs £3750 and the Carnelian red is £4,100.

The official website describes the piece as follows: “Faithful to the very first Alhambra jewel created in 1968, the Vintage Alhambra creations by Van Cleef & Arpels are distinguished by their unique, timeless elegance.

“Inspired by the clover leaf, these icons of luck are adorned with a border of golden beads.”
