Quordle today – hints and answers for Saturday, August 12 (game #565)

Get ready for your daily dose of Quordle hints, along with the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin-off. Quordle, one of the many Wordle clones, has managed to capture my attention even after 18 months since the word-game craze first swept the internet. And it’s not without reason – it’s both enjoyable and challenging. Not to mention, its creators, now the online dictionary Merriam-Webster, are keeping it fresh with a new variant called the Daily Sequence, where you solve four consecutive puzzles instead of tackling them all at once.
But let’s be honest, Quordle can be tough. If you’ve already found yourself in search of Wordle hints, chances are you’ll need some for this game too. As a Quordle and Wordle fanatic who’s been playing since December 2021, I’m here to help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Keep reading for my Quordle hints for game #565 and the answers to the main game and Daily Sequence.

About Me:
I’m Marc McLaren, TechRadar’s UK Editor in Chief. I’ve been playing Wordle and Quordle for over a year and have written numerous articles on the game for TechRadar and its sister site Tom’s Guide. I’ve even conducted an in-depth analysis of the most common letters in every position. My Wordle streak recently reached 500, and losing it would be devastating. Yes, I take the game very seriously.

Quordle FAQs: Everything You Need to Know
What is Quordle?
Unlike Wordle, where you guess a new five-letter word each day, Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve simultaneously. You have nine guesses, compared to Wordle’s six, but the rules are quite similar. You can play Quordle online through the Quordle website or via the Merriam-Webster site, as Merriam-Webster acquired Quordle last year. Just like Wordle, the answers remain the same for all players each day, creating a global competition. The puzzle resets at midnight, offering a fresh challenge each day. The website provides a practice mode, which I highly recommend using before diving into the actual game. Daily statistics, including streak counts, are also available. Additionally, you can earn Quordle Achievements – special badges for various accomplishments such as winning a game in a specific number of turns, playing frequently, or guessing particularly challenging words. And let’s not forget, it’s challenging. Very challenging.

What are the Quordle Rules?
The rules of Quordle closely mirror those of Wordle:
1. Correct letters in the answer and the right position turn green.
2. Correct letters in the answer but in the wrong position turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer turn gray.
4. However, the word you guess appears in all quadrants of the puzzle simultaneously. As a result, an “A” may turn green in one square, yellow in another, and gray in the remaining two.
5. Answers are always singular, never plural.
6. Letters can appear more than once. If your guess includes two of the same letter, both may turn yellow, both may turn green, or one may be yellow while the other is green.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary. For example, guessing “ABCDE” is not allowed.
8. You don’t have to include correct letters from previous guesses, and there is no equivalent of Wordle’s Hard mode.
9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle answers.
10. You must complete the daily Quordle before midnight in your timezone.

What is a Good Quordle Strategy?
Approach Quordle differently than Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine guesses, randomly inputting letters won’t lead to success. Instead, employ a strategic approach. This is true for Wordle as well, but it’s even more crucial in Quordle. Here are two key strategies to keep in mind:

1. Use Multiple Starting Words:
Instead of relying on a single starting word, consider using two or three starting words. Begin with one of the most effective starting words in Wordle, as these tend to work well in Quordle too. Follow that with another word or two that incorporates the most common consonants and any remaining vowels. For instance, my current starting words are STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Together, these words utilize 15 letters of the alphabet, including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C, and H). Of course, there are other viable options. You might opt for an M, B, F, or G instead of the H. Experiment and find a combination that works for you. If all goes well, these starting words will provide valuable insights into one (or even two) of the answers. If not, well, good luck!

2. Narrow Down Your Options:
In challenging situations…
