Samsung is reportedly developing two innovative camera features exclusively for foldable smartphones. According to a report from SamMobile, the company has filed for trademarks for two new camera modes called FlexShot and FlexSnap.
The trademark applications have been submitted to the UK Intellectual Property Office, suggesting that these camera modes may be introduced with the upcoming One UI 6 update on the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
It’s important to note that these features are still in development and will not be available out of the box on the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
The information about FlexShot and FlexSnap is currently limited, but it falls within the “Flex” branding that Samsung uses for its foldable devices. This branding includes products like Flex Window, Flex hinge, and FlexCam. We can speculate that FlexShot and FlexSnap will offer unique functionalities, although the exact details are unknown.
Based on the names, FlexSnap could potentially integrate with Snapchat or provide a similar experience through the front cover display. On the other hand, FlexShot is a completely new concept, and there is no information available about its features.
