It was inevitable
Thanks to today’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom stream, we can confirm the game has finished development. We still have a couple months until release, but anyone looking for a Switch upgrade can look forward to a treat much sooner.
A special edition Tears of the Kingdom OLED Switch is confirmed to launch on April 28th, 2023. Sporting the gold color that has been synonymous with the franchise, this is looking like a must-have for Zelda collectors. Even the dock sports a vibrant display that will look great when you aren’t playing in handheld mode. Additionally, a corresponding pro controller and carrying case will become available on May 12th, the same date that the game itself will launch.
Even if a Tears of the Kingdom OLED shouldn’t surprise anyone, it’s still nice to see it officially announced. Even when a Nintendo Switch successor gets inevitably announced, this system will sit pretty whether it’s hooked up or not. Stay tuned as we learn more about this device.
