Blizzard Entertainment recently provided new details about the upcoming Overwatch 2 expansion, “Invasion.” This expansion will introduce significant changes to the game, with the most notable addition being the long-awaited story mode. This mode will delve into the Overwatch crew’s adventures as they face a new threat and reunite after the events of the first game. Alongside the story mode, players can look forward to exciting features such as PvE, a co-op event, Hero Mastery mode, a new PvP mode, and the introduction of a new hero. Overwatch 2: Invasion Story Missions
The invasion of Paris by the rogue Omnic group, Null Sector, was depicted in the “Zero Hour” cinematic. Thanks to the efforts of heroes like Winston, Tracer, Mei, and others, the city was saved from destruction. However, this was just the beginning of a global invasion. Null Sector continues to wreak havoc, targeting Omnics for mysterious purposes. The new Overwatch team must uncover their plans and put an end to their reign of terror. To achieve this, they will need assistance from old allies and new comrades.
Overwatch 2: Invasion offers three thrilling story missions set in Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Gothenburg. These expansive maps feature intricate objectives and a captivating storyline that will guide players through their missions. The intensified forces of Null Sector will relentlessly attack until they are completely dismantled. With the release of Overwatch 2: Invasion, players can also enjoy the new PvP mode, Flashpoint. This mode is available in both Quick Play and Competitive Play and introduces two expansive PvP maps, the largest in Overwatch 2 to date. Teams will battle to control key positions called “flashpoints,” aiming to capture three of them before their opponents. The action is fast-paced, leaving no time for rest once a point is captured. Planning ahead and preventing opponents from reaching the next flashpoint will be crucial for victory.
Master Your Skills with Hero Mastery Mode
Introducing a new approach to honing your skills, Overwatch 2: Invasion presents Hero Mastery mode. Each hero will have specially designed training courses that test players’ abilities with their unique skill sets. Hero Mastery mode includes global leaderboards to showcase the top-performing hero masters around the world. The first set of courses will be available for select heroes, with more to come in future seasons. Additionally, the Practice Range receives a major update with a brand-new firing range, featuring various practice settings and multiple targets to assist players in refining their aim with any hero.
