The events of “Secret Invasion” occur sometime after the release of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” This movie, scheduled to be the first MCU film of the year, primarily takes place in the Quantum realm, a realm unaffected by time. Before “Ant-Man 3,” however, viewers will be treated to “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” a film set during the Christmas holiday in the MCU’s 2025 timeline.
Based on this information, it is highly likely that “Quantumania” takes place in 2026. Therefore, the events depicted in “Secret Invasion” also occur in 2026. While we don’t have a precise date, we can expect to learn more details in the near future.

Unfortunately, the events of “Infinity War” and “Endgame,” particularly Thanos’ attack on Earth, significantly impacted Fury’s mental state.
Fury’s death in “Infinity War” and subsequent resurrection five years later revealed the loss of two of his closest allies: Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Additionally, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) has disappeared.
Instead of confronting these harsh realities as a top spy, Agent Fury decided to retreat to space where he focuses on constructing SABRE, Earth’s most advanced defense system. This information is gleaned from “Secret Invasion.”
Fury’s absence dates back to at least “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” set in the summer of 2024. Notably, the Battle of Avengers Headquarters in “Endgame” occurs in October 2023.
