Mahindra attended the India-US Hi-Tech Handshake event, which aimed to strengthen the ties between the two countries in the high-tech sector. Other prominent figures in the business delegation included Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha and True Beacon, and Vrinda Kapoor, co-founder of 3rdiTech. The meeting saw the participation of notable American representatives, including Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, and Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI.
Following the event, Mahindra took to Twitter to share what he described as his “Washington Moment.” He recounted how he, Mukesh Ambani, and Vrinda Kapoor missed the group shuttle bus to the next lunch engagement and attempted to call an Uber. It was during this moment that they unexpectedly encountered NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, also known as @Astro_Suni, and took a selfie with her. In a whimsical twist, they even jokingly asked if they could hitch a ride on her space shuttle instead of taking an Uber.

Industry Hails PM Modi’s Landmark US Visit
The Indian business community has lauded Prime Minister Modi’s four-day state visit to the US as historic and groundbreaking. SP Shukla, Chairman of Mahindra Defence and Aerospace, described the visit as trend-setting, emphasizing the significance of PM Modi addressing the US Congress for the second time. Shukla believes that this visit sends a crucial message about the desire of both nations to collaborate and highlights the role of technology as the foundation of their partnership. He expressed confidence that this visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in bilateral relations, one that will benefit not only India and the US but also the rest of the world. Subhrakant Panda, President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), deemed PM Modi’s visit highly successful, citing several substantive outcomes related to semiconductors defense acquisitions, critical technology access, the Artemis Accord for space cooperation, and the resolution of six outstanding trade disputes. Similarly, R Dinesh, President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), praised PM Modi for recognizing the importance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India’s growth. Dinesh commended the joint statement between India and the US, which acknowledged MSMEs and hailed it as a significant development.
