Transformers movies are dominating the top 10 on Paramount Plus

This year’s movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts may not have achieved the same level of success as previous films in the franchise, both at the box office and in terms of critical acclaim. However, it seems to have found its audience on the streaming platform. Since its release on Paramount Plus two weeks ago, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has become the most popular movie on the service. Interestingly, this popularity has also boosted the rankings of 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction and 2018’s Bumblebee, which are now in the top 10 as well.

As of now, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is ranked tenth among the biggest movies of 2023, with a worldwide box office gross of $433 million. To put this into perspective, the original 2007 live-action Transformers movie generated over $700 million. The combined box office earnings of the next three sequels exceeded $3 billion. The franchise has evolved significantly over time.

Nevertheless, the brand has not lost all its value despite facing some critical disappointments. Rise of the Beasts has achieved a respectable 52% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is higher than all but two of the other sequels and spinoffs. It is worth noting that Bumblebee remains the only Transformers movie with a “fresh” rating on the review aggregation site.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ’90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers — the Maximals — to join them as allies in the existing battle for Earth,” as described in the synopsis from Paramount.

Unfortunately, not all Transformers movies are currently available for streaming. However, here are the five movies that you can watch on streaming services:

We cannot predict what the future holds for live-action Transformers movies. However, the producers are currently working on an animated prequel film titled Transformers One. Paramount has secured an all-star voice cast for this project, including Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-One, Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron, and Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime.
