Build crafting is a major focus in the recently released RPG-shooter, Remnant II. The game introduces new Archetypes that play a central role in this experience. While there are at least 10 Archetypes to unlock (with one unlocking method still unknown), the most complex one is the Invader. Unlocking this Archetype involves a series of confusing steps, but we’re here to simplify it for you.
To switch to a new Archetype or create a dual-class character, you need to unlock them by obtaining a special item called an “Engram.” Wallace, the person on the crane in the Ward 13 hub, can craft these Engrams for you. However, he requires 10 Lumenite Crystals, 1000 Scrap, and a unique item for each Engram. Here’s the step-by-step guide to unlocking the Invader Archetype without getting overwhelmed or lost.
Invader
- Engram needed – Serrated Tooth Blade
- Special crafting item needed – Wooden Shiv
As mentioned before, obtaining the Wooden Shiv is a long and intricate process. We have broken it down into several broad steps for better understanding.
Step 1 – Getting the Nightweaver Stone Doll
First, visit the Morrow Parish area in the Losomn region. In the Sanitorium/Asylum area, search for three Carved-Stone Dolls. One is located in the far corner of the Sanitorium’s courtyard, while another is in a room on the first floor. The final doll can be found on the third floor. Additionally, obtain the Prison Key from an upstairs balcony by jumping through a broken window. Once you have all the dolls and the key, head to the basement where you’ll find the Head Doctor in one of the cells. Give her the three Carved-Stone Dolls and unlock her door. She will leave behind the Nightweaver Stone Doll.
Step 2 – Get the Soulkey Tribute
On the third floor of the Sanitorium, locate a magic door that leads to Nimue’s Retreat. Ask Nimue to send you to the “Nightweaver’s hunting grounds.” This will transport you to the Forsaken Quarter area. Explore this area until you find a door marked with an exclamation point. Through that door, you’ll enter a sublocation that may differ for each player. Eventually, you’ll encounter a boss and, upon defeating it, a new Waypoint Stone will appear. Follow the stone to the exit. Along the way, you’ll come across the Nightweaver feasting on a corpse. Scare it away and pick up the Soulkey Tribute item. Return to the Sanitorium through the exit.
Step 3 – Getting the Dreamcatcher
Proceed to the basement of the Sanitorium. Interact with the bundle of webs emitting a pale blue glow in the center. Use the Soulkey Tribute to be transported to the Tormented Asylum, a dark alternate version of the Sanitorium. Nearby, you will find another open prison cell. Interact with the webs within and use the Nightweaver Stone Doll to finally obtain the Dreamcatcher.
Step 4 – Getting the Wooden Shiv
This next part occurs much later in the game, after you’ve reached Root Earth, the final region. Progress through the Corrupted Harbor area, which takes place within a ruined ship, until you reach a more open area. In the center, there will be a root growth with a faint purple glow. Use the Dreamcatcher on the root, and you’ll receive the secret Walker’s Dream consumable item. Consume the Walker’s Dream and you’ll be transported to the Twilight Veil area. Defeat the boss named Bane, and you will finally obtain the Wooden Shiv. Return to Wallace to craft the Serrated Tooth Blade.
Phew! It may have been a challenging journey, but you have successfully unlocked the Invader Archetype!
