Zara Tindall, 40 and Mike Tindall, 42 have three children together and it is no surprise that the British equestrian and former English rugby player have passed on their competitive nature to them. Express.co.uk spoke exclusively to Parent Experience Manager Jo Pandolfi at Abacus Ark nursery about the royals parenting style.

Following seven years of dating, they announced their engagement and in 2011, they married in Edinburgh, Scotland with 400 guests in attendance.

Together, they have gone onto have three children; Mia Grace Tindall, seven, Lena Elizabeth Tindall, three and Lucas Philip Tindall, five months old.

And while the couple like to keep a low profile, they sometimes make appearances as a family.

With a shared love of sport, it is no surprise that Parent Experience Manager Jo Pandolfi at Abacus Ark nursery believes Zara and Mike’s competitiveness has influenced their parenting style.

She said: “Mike Tindall wants his daughters to be very competitive and apparently beat his six year old when teaching her to surf.

“At Abacus Ark we encourage competitiveness in a healthy way…. but give the children a level playing field.

“I think that where a child is being set up to fail then that only promotes a lack of confidence and the child will probably not bother trying,” Jo continued.

“Children who are given tasks that challenge but do not set them up to fail, who do sometimes succeed and enjoy the feeling of amusement…. are far more likely to embrace new challenges as they grow and develop and will have better self esteem.”

But were unable to make the journey because of the quick contractions Zara was experiences.
