The two upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs in the first half of 2024 are the updated XUV400 and the XUV300-based EV

In the first half of the 2024 calendar year, Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to launch two electric SUVs as the updated XUV400 and the new XUV300 EV could be introduced. Here we have explained all the known details:

1. Updated Mahindra XUV400:

Upon its anticipated launch in early 2024, the updated Mahindra XUV400 is set to undergo comprehensive cosmetic enhancements inside the cabin and exterior updates are also expected. The revamped model will gain a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a new instrument console.

It currently uses the same interior as the XUV300 ICE, which has certainly aged. Thus, to give a more premium appeal and offer a more feature-rich equipment list, the 2024 Mahindra XUV400 will arrive in just about a year since the original model was launched. It’s worth noting that no alterations to the vehicle’s performance are expected as part of this refresh.

The Mahindra XUV400 is priced between Rs. 15.99 lakh and Rs. 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). It is sold in EC and EL trims with the former featuring a 34.5 kWh battery pack, which is good enough for a claimed range of 375 km, and comes equipped with a 3.2 kW charger. The EL variant uses a larger 39.4 kWh battery with a claimed range of 456 km. It boasts 7.2 kW charging capability. Both variants are powered by a 150 hp capable electric motor transferring power to only the front axle.

In the middle of 2024, Mahindra is set to unveil the electric iteration of the XUV300 compact SUV, positioned beneath the XUV400 in their lineup. Expected to offer a claimed driving range surpassing 350 km, this electric SUV will enter the market as a direct competitor to the entry-level models of the Nexon EV.

It will be based on the XUV300 facelift launching in February or March 2023 and will likely use the smaller 34.5 kWh battery pack found in the XUV400 with similar range capabilities. The interiors of the sub-four-metre XUV300 EV, the updated XUV400 and the XUV300 ICE facelift will have a lot of commonalities. The exterior of the XUV300 EV will be in line with its refreshed ICE sibling.
