Sidharth Malhotra showcased his talent in the war film Shershaah on August 12, 2021. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the actor portrayed the role of Captain Vikram Batra, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War. Produced by Dharma Productions, Shershaah also featured Kiara Advani in a significant role.
Sidharth Malhotra expressed his gratitude to his fans for accepting him as Captain Vikram Batra in a heartfelt note on the second anniversary of Shershaah. In his Hindi note, the actor wrote, “Few actors are fortunate enough to portray an immortal real-life character. I was given this opportunity to play Captain Vikram Batra on screen, and it helped me experience his love for the country, his bravery, his expertise, and his zest for life, ultimately giving birth to Shershaah.”
The note continued, “Two years ago, you all showered your love on Shershaah. And whenever I remember this date, my heart can’t help but say, ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’.”

Shershaah depicts the life of Param Vir Chakra recipient, Vikram Batra, who fearlessly sacrificed his life during the Kargil War. The film showcases his early life, career, and his relationship with Dimple Chimma. Interestingly, Malhotra and Advani fell in love during the filming of Shershaah and tied the knot on February 7 at Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Palace.
In terms of their careers, Kiara Advani was last seen opposite Kartik Aaryan in SatyaPrem Ki Katha. She has recently been cast in the Telugu film “Game Changer” alongside Ram Charan and is also a part of the “Yash Raj Spy Universe” in War 2. On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra’s latest project is Netflix’s Mission Majnu, and he will also be seen in Yodha.
