2024 F-Type ZP Edition is Jaguar’s last gas-powered sports car

Article content

Major auto brands continue to sunset gas guzzlers as the demand for sustainable machines grows. And not even these makers’ most beautiful machines are safe from the change. Jaguar and its F-Type are among them.

The British automaker has plans to become what it calls a “modern luxury all-electric brand,” but that doesn’t mean it’s letting the F-Type drive off into said sunset without one last hurrah. (That is, one last last hurrah, because we kind of feel like we’ve already written this headline.)

The F-Type ZP Edition will be Jag’s final gas sports car before its combustion engines are swapped for batteries. This speedster has become an integral part of the Jag marquee, despite arriving just a decade ago. Inspired by the E-types of the 1960s, the ZP Edition will go from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph (which has been electronically limited), thanks to a 575-horsepower supercharged V8 engine.

Just 150 examples will be available globally when the ZP Edition arrives next year. Other limited features include paint options like Oulton Blue and Crystal Grey — the first time an F-Type has been available in either colourway — hand-painted racing-style door roundels and special ZP Edition branding, like a ‘One of 150’ plaque.

The ZP Edition will be offered to customers in both convertible or coupe models.
