1. Curcumin

According to Dr Batra, when it comes to heart disease, it improves the function of the endothelium, the lining of your blood vessels. Curcumin can help reduce inflammation and oxidation which can play a role in heart disease.

2. Black Pepper

Black pepper is rich in vanadium, which elicits cardiac functional recovery in myocardial infarction and pressure overload–induced hypertrophy.

3. Coriander Seeds

Dr Batra suggests that the seeds of coriander have a remarkable hypolipidemic action (refers to the ability to lower lipid levels in the bloodstream, particularly cholesterol and triglycerides.)

4. Ginger

Ginger, the active ingredient in ginger is gingerol, a compound that is thought to relax blood vessels, stimulate blood flow, and relieve pain. Ginger is also an anti-inflammatory agent, which means it may be useful in fighting heart disease.

5. Cinnamon

According to Dr Batra, the active components cinnamaldehyde and cinnamic acid are said to be cardio-protective due to their ability to produce nitric oxide as well as the associated anti-inflammatory properties.
