Cloud Streaming Being Tested by Sony for ‘Supported’ PS5 Games; Unveiling of PlayStation Plus June Games.

Sony has recently announced that it is testing cloud streaming for supported PS5 games. This feature, currently in its early stages, will allow PS Plus Premium/Deluxe members to directly stream select PS5 games without having to download them. The games available for streaming include those on the Game Catalog and Game Trials. While no game titles have been confirmed yet, Sony promises to provide as many games as possible. This news follows the recent revelation of Sony’s newest handheld device, Project Q, which uses similar technology. The company has also announced a list of 27 free games coming this month to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe subscribers.

Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, explained in a recent interview that the company sees mobility in gaming habits as an increasingly important trend, and cloud technology will allow them to take advantage of this trend. Sony has experimented with cloud technology before through PlayStation Now, which was later bundled with revised PS Plus. Project Q will feature an 8-inch 1080p screen with a button layout and analogue sticks reminiscent of the PS5 DualSense controller. The device will allow players to stream games from their PS5 consoles via Remote Play or Wi-Fi and is set to launch next year.

Additionally, Sony has announced the complete list of titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium catalogues this month. These games will be available to claim starting on June 20. Far Cry 6, the biggest AAA freebie, allows players to assume the role of a rebel fighting against the ruthless dictator Antón Castillo with creative gunplay, crafting, and more. Other major additions include Rogue Legacy 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Killing Floor 2, and Inscryption.

The PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscription starts from Rs. 849 per month in India, while the Extra subscription begins at Rs. 749 per month. Affiliate links may be automatically generated in this article – see our ethics statement for details.
