What is Berlin about and when can I watch it?
There is a slight challenge (and a major spoiler for those not caught up with Money Heist) in creating a film centered around Berlin – he’s dead. However, Netflix has opted to delve into the past to showcase Berlin before the iconic heist in Money Heist. While this may diminish some of the suspense – as we know at least one character survives – it allows the cast, writers, and crew to have fun with a character who exceeded the expectations of Money Heist’s creators.
This time, the heist involves stealing €44 million from a renowned auction house in Paris. Naturally, this requires assembling a team of exceptionally skilled and dangerous individuals. The squad includes Michelle Jenner, Begoña Vargas, Tristán Ulloa, Yuri D. Brown, Marcel Gonzalez, Miko Jarry, Julien Paschai, Joel Sánchez, and Julio Peña.
Eight episodes of Berlin are set to release in December. And what’s next? Expect more spin-offs featuring other characters from the show. As show creator Álex Pina revealed to Oprah Daily, “We have many possibilities for spinoffs… We’ve always strived to give our characters complex, multi-layered designs. So, almost every character in Money Heist possesses the duality that we would love to explore in spinoffs. We could witness any of them in different contexts.”
