On the third anniversary of SonyLIV, the streaming platform announced the release date of the series Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. This series serves as a sequel to Hansal Mehta’s critically acclaimed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. The Telgi Story will begin streaming on September 2.

Scam 2003 portrays the infamous 2003 Stamp Paper Scam orchestrated by Abdul Karim Telgi. This series delves into the life of Abdul Karim Telgi, who was born in Karnataka’s Khanapur. Telgi’s journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of India’s most audacious scams, which spanned across 18 states and sent shockwaves throughout the country, will be captured. The estimated value of the scam was approximately Rs 20,000 crores.
Following the success of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Hansal Mehta is now bringing Scam 2003: The Telgi Story to the audience. After Pratik Gandhi’s portrayal of Harshad Mehta, the makers have found the perfect fit for the role of Telgi in Gagan Devi Riar. Gagan Devi Riar is a veteran artist who will be depicting Abdul Karim Telgi in the series.
Scam 2003 is produced by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Studio Next. The series is helmed by Hansal Mehta and directed by Tushar Hiranandani.
For those unaware, Hansal Mehta recently co-created and directed the Netflix crime drama series called Scoop. Prior to that, he directed the hostage thriller film Faraaz.
