Eastern Communications has expanded its market reach by launching connectivity services in Zamboanga to meet the internet requirements of one of Mindanao’s economic hubs.
In a recent statement, the telecommunications player announced that its connectivity, data, and information and communications technology (ICT) solutions are now available in Zamboanga.
“Zamboanga’s year is 2023, and we want the people in the area to know that our services are now accessible to them. Through this expansion, we aim to empower more businesses, families, and individuals with reliable connectivity and ICT services,” said Aileen Regio, co-coordinator at Eastern Communications.
“We are confident that we can provide them with the means to connect with each other and the rest of the world, enabling them to grow their businesses,” she added.
The telco has been increasing its presence nationwide through the construction of the $150-million Philippine Domestic Cable Network (PDSCN) in partnership with Globe Telecom and InfiniVan Inc.
The subsea cable project has reached all 33 of its sites, including Iloilo, Bacolod, Boracay, Cebu, Siargao, and Camiguin.
The PDSCN is expected to deliver crucial connectivity for the country’s recovery from the pandemic, supporting government, education, business, and recreational communication needs.
This year, the broadband service provider, jointly owned by PLDT Inc. and Globe, has allocated P1.04 billion for capital expenditure to fund its expansion and rollout of fiber network services.INQ
