If you want to avoid spoilers for Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, scheduled for the end of July, then it’s time to look away. A recent leak has revealed the specifications and a variety of renders for the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones.
The leak was initially shared by the well-known tipster SnoopyTech and subsequently reported by XDA Developers. The leaked renders, which appear to be official, showcase the Z Fold 5 in dark gray, beige, and light blue color options, while the Z Flip 5 is featured in beige, light green, dark gray, and light pink.
The Z Fold 5 doesn’t seem to have undergone any significant design changes compared to its predecessor. However, the Z Flip 5 showcases distinct differences from the current Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, including a larger cover screen and a rearranged camera configuration.
Prior leaks have suggested that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a larger cover screen this year, similar to the Motorola Razr Plus. This allows users to perform more tasks without fully opening the phone.
Specs Appeal
According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to sport a 7.6-inch main display with a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels, as well as a 6.2-inch outer display with a resolution of 2316 x 904 pixels. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, accompanied by 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
The camera setup is rumored to include a triple-lens module consisting of a 50MP, 12MP, and 12MP lenses, with a 4MP under-display camera on the inside and a 10MP selfie camera on the outside. The battery capacity is said to be 4,400mAh, which matches the previous model.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, reports indicate that it will feature a 6.7-inch main display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080 pixels, along with a 3.4-inch cover display with a resolution of 748 x 720 pixels. The internal specifications are expected to be identical to the Z Fold 5, except for a reduction in RAM to 8GB.
The external camera module is rumored to consist of dual 12MP lenses, while a 10MP selfie camera will be located on the inside. The battery capacity is reported to be 3,700mAh, matching last year’s models. Although there isn’t a major upgrade apart from the larger cover display, Samsung’s offering still piques our interest for its July showcase.
