Funko Fusion Teaser Teases Exciting Cross-Over Game With The Umbrella Academy, Jurassic World, and Beyond

Funko Pops, the beloved lineup of vinyl and bobblehead figurines with a dedicated fan base, is set to make its mark in the gaming world. 10:10 Games has released a teaser for their upcoming title, Funko Fusion, a unique and thrilling multiplayer action-adventure game featuring characters from various movies and TV series. While the brief trailer doesn’t reveal much about the gameplay, it does showcase beloved characters from NBCUniversal franchises like The Umbrella Academy, Jurassic World, Shaun of the Dead, He-Man, Chucky the Doll, and more. Funko Fusion is expected to launch in early 2024 on PC and consoles.

Marking their debut project, 10:10 Games aims to give each character in Funko Fusion distinct personalities and abilities. Given that the studio was co-founded by the highly acclaimed Jon Burton, a five-time BAFTA award winner and the founder of TT Games, it wouldn’t be surprising if the game reminiscent of the popular Lego series of video games such as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or LEGO Batman. The press release states that the team working on Funko Fusion includes experienced professionals skilled in creating “brick-based games.” Additionally, the game is said to offer online multiplayer functionality, allowing up to four players to team up, battle enemies, explore stunning environments, and solve intricate puzzles together.

“We are incredibly excited to unveil the work our team here at 10:10 Games has been tirelessly working on,” said Arthur Parsons, Design Director and Co-founder at 10:10 Games. “Through our collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms and the utilization of the incredible properties they’ve entrusted us with, we are creating a gaming experience that is not only incredibly enjoyable and immersive but also genuinely celebrates fans in a way that has never been done before, all through the lens of Funko.”

A glimpse of 10:10 Games’ YouTube channel reveals that an announcement trailer for Funko Fusion was released around nine months ago, showcasing the game’s extensive development time and indicating that it is likely to be a well-crafted and fully-realized concept.

Currently, Funko Fusion appears to feature only NBCUniversal properties. However, there is potential for expansion into other licenses, possibly through DLC add-ons or even a separate game if the initial release proves successful. The snippets of gameplay in the trailer hint at co-op gameplay mechanics that resemble those found in Lego games, where players may navigate split screens or witness the screen adapt dynamically based on the level of action. For example, one scene shows player-1 taking down approaching droids while player-2 carries a battery to power an automated door. Headshots in Funko Fusion are likely to be a breeze.

Funko Fusion is scheduled for release in 2024 on PC and various consoles, although specific details about the console versions have yet to be revealed.
