A Step-by-Step Guide on Generating AI Images with Microsoft Bing AI

AI has become a prominent feature in various tools and platforms, with the launch of ChatGPT. Microsoft is an early adopter of this technology and has integrated AI tools into Bing and Edge browsers to enhance and simplify the user experience. One such tool is the AI-image generator in Microsoft Bing, which allows users to create AI-generated images. Powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E image generator, Bing Image Creator streamlines the process of image generation using text prompts.

In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to use Bing Image Creator for AI image generation. Please note that a Microsoft account is required to proceed. If you do not have one, it is recommended to create a Microsoft account.

Bing Image Creator can be accessed through the Microsoft Edge browser. Simply open the Edge browser on your laptop and click on the Bing Image Creator icon in the sidebar to access the tool. Alternatively, you can also access the tool from Bing chat within Edge. Follow the steps below to use Bing Image Creator:

Step 1: Go to bing.com/images/create

Step 2: Click on the ‘Join & Create’ button

Step 3: Login to your Microsoft account when prompted

Step 4: Enter a prompt of your choice or click on the ‘Surprise Me’ button for a suggested prompt from a pre-made list

Step 5: Click on ‘Create’

Step 6: You can save the generated image or copy-paste it as needed

The image generation process typically takes a few seconds to a few hours, depending on the server and prompt. To expedite results, users can use ‘Boost’, which is the currency used in Bing Image Creator. Each prompt generated consumes one ‘Boost’. Users receive 25 boosts per week for free, and additional boosts can be purchased using Microsoft Rewards points. Approximately 5,000 points can be redeemed for a $5 Boost on the Microsoft Store online.
