Joining this impressive lineup is The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal drama series based on Michael Connelly’s book series, which is set to return to Netflix this week.

The Lincoln Lawyer stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the idealistic Mickey Haller, a lawyer who operates his practice out of the backseat of his Lincoln car. Haller takes on a range of cases, from high-profile to small-scale, in the city of Los Angeles. The second season of this popular Netflix show is based on Connelly’s fourth book in the series, titled The Fifth Witness.
In Connelly’s novels, Haller was first introduced in the 2005 book The Lincoln Lawyer as the younger half-brother of another well-known character, Harry Bosch, who is portrayed in the Prime Video series Bosch. The Netflix series delves into Haller’s Latin heritage, as originally depicted in Connelly’s books. Matthew McConaughey portrayed Haller in the 2011 film adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer.
Netflix describes the character as follows: “Born in Los Angeles and partly raised in Mexico by his mother, Mickey Haller is returning to work after a hiatus. He previously struggled with addiction to prescription pain medication but has since overcome it. Haller maintains friendly relationships with his ex-wives and relies on a former client turned driver to chauffeur him around the city. At the beginning of Season 2, Mickey is widely recognized as the ‘hottest defense lawyer in LA’ following a major case victory in Season 1.”
Part 2 of the season will be available on August 3, exactly one month after the release of Part 1.
