April 2023 PlayStation Plus Free Games Unveiled: Introducing Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Tails of Iron

PlayStation has unveiled the lineup of free games for April 2023, exclusively for PlayStation Plus subscribers. From April 4 to May 1, subscribers across the Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/Premium tiers can enjoy the following three titles: Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Tails of Iron. The highlight of this month’s offerings is Meet Your Maker, an exciting first-person building-and-raiding game available as a day 1 launch title on PS Plus. Both PS4 and PS5 users can add these games to their libraries until May 1, and as long as they remain subscribed to PS Plus, they can continue playing them.

If you’re eager for the latest PlayStation news, you can find the confirmation of April’s free games on the PlayStation Blog. PlayStation also reminds its PS Plus subscribers to add the free games from March to their libraries by April 3. Among the lineup for March are Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons, and Code Vein, catering to fans of multiplayer shooters, hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers, and action-RPGs with a challenging gameplay style.

Meet Your Maker

Meet Your Maker was first announced in August 2022. This first-person shooter combines the fun of building and raiding in a thrilling gaming experience. Developed by Behaviour Interactive, players can construct their own outpost and plan raids on other players’ outposts while navigating through a labyrinth filled with traps, obstacles, and enemies.

You can dive into Meet Your Maker on April 4, as it debuts on PS Plus as a launch title. With a first-person perspective, the game offers a wide range of firearms and explosives, supplemented by a melee weapon and a grappling hook for added versatility. Think of it as an action-packed Super Mario Maker. The game is available to play on both PS4 and PS5.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

In April, PlayStation Plus members can also enjoy Sackboy: A Big Adventure, a 3D platformer that originated from the beloved LittleBigPlanet series by Sumo Digital. This thrilling adventure follows the trials of Sackboy, the game’s titular character. With improved interactivity and movement mechanics, players can now navigate Sackboy more fluidly than ever before.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure supports up to four-player local and online multiplayer modes, making it a fantastic game to play with friends. You can experience this exciting platformer on both PS4 and PS5.

Tails of Iron

The third free game for PS Plus subscribers in April is Tails of Iron, an action-RPG that incorporates challenging combat reminiscent of the Souls-like genre. Initially released in 2021, this game received critical acclaim for its unique hand-drawn art style, which beautifully contrasts with its unforgiving combat mechanics. Players assume the role of Redgi, the heir to the Rat Throne, who embarks on a quest to restore the war-torn kingdom.

To overcome the formidable Frog Clan and their leader, Greenwart, Redgi must rely on the assistance of his companions. Tails of Iron offers robust crafting mechanics, including recipes and weapon and armor blueprints that greatly aid you on your perilous journey. Like the previous two games, Tails of Iron is available on both PS4 and PS5.

Earlier this month, PlayStation also announced an impressive lineup of games for its Game Catalogue, which is accessible to Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tier subscribers. Starting from March 21, subscribers at these higher tiers gain access to games such as Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, indie launch title Tchia, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, Ghostwire: Tokyo, two Life is Strange titles, and Immortals Fenyx Rising, among others.

In India, PlayStation Plus subscription rates start at Rs. 499 per month for the Essential tier. The Extra tier costs Rs. 749 per month, while the Deluxe membership is priced at Rs. 849 per month. Remember, all three tiers include April’s free games, available until May 1.
