In 2022, Capcom made the exciting announcement of Exoprimal, a dinosaur action game that emphasizes online multiplayer and crossplay. However, there is one significant caveat when it comes to crossplay. While Exoprimal does support cross-platform matchmaking, it does not allow for cross-platform party creation. This means that players cannot invite their friends to parties if they are playing on different platforms.
Today, Capcom took to Twitter to clarify the limitations of crossplay at the game’s launch. In a thread, they stated that Exoprimal will support cross-platform matchmaking on day one. However, party creation will be specific to each platform ecosystem. They outlined the platform groups as follows:

According to Capcom, the limitations on crossplay for party creation will persist in the full release, as well as what was observed during the beta. However, they do hint at the possibility of cross-platform parties being allowed in the future, though it may take some time to implement. Additionally, Capcom mentioned that they will be sharing a roadmap for the game’s first major post-launch update soon.
Exoprimal is scheduled to launch on July 14 and was showcased in a new trailer during last month’s Capcom Showcase. The trailer revealed new enemies, exosuits, and a new game mode. We had the opportunity to preview the game last year and found it to be a solid foundation for a PvPvE shooter, although the PvP gameplay was considered mediocre and formulaic.
