Chapter 3 Guide: Mastering the Bomb Defusal Minigame in Rain Code

The Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is an innovative game developed by Kazutaka Kodaka and Too Kyo Games, the creators of Danganronpa. With its challenging gameplay, the game will put your mind to the test. While the investigation phase of the game is typically straightforward, Chapter 3 introduces a Bomb Defusal minigame to add an extra layer of challenge.

During the Bomb Defusal challenges, you are tasked with deciphering a pattern and selecting the correct image to complete it within a time limit. These challenges can be quite tricky, but fret not! Instead of wasting time with trial and error, you can simply refer to our comprehensive mini guide below!

Bomb Defusal 1

The first bomb can be found at the bus stop outside the café in Ginma District.

  • For this bomb defusal, the correct tile is located at the bottom-left of the grid of six. It may be an easy one, but it’s always good to double-check!

Bomb Defusal 2

The second bomb is situated on the vending machine near the hotel in Kamasaki District.

  • What could these series of shapes and letters mean? Surprisingly, the shapes are actually zoomed-in arrows pointing in different directions – up, left, down, and right! Therefore, the answer is “R”.

Bomb Defusal 3

The final bomb is hidden in the bushes outside the Aetheria Academy.

  • This bomb defusal is slightly different. Rather than identifying a sequence, you need to envision what the squares on the left would form if they were folded into a 3D cube. The correct answer is the cube located on the bottom-right of the grid of six.

There you have it! All the bombs successfully defused without any need for restarts or confusion!

Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is now available on the Nintendo Switch platform. Be sure to check out our guides for other chapters of the game. For a comprehensive review of the game, take a look at Wccftech’s detailed analysis.
