Warden’s Law Receives Rework in Destiny 2 Weapon Changes, Dead Man’s Tale Becomes Craftable

Experience the revamped Warden’s Law hand cannon in Bungie’s latest Destiny 2 update. This update provides a detailed breakdown of the changes made to the hand cannon before it becomes available as a Nightfall reward for Season 22. As an added treat, Bungie also announced that the exotic scout rifle, Dead Man’s Tale, can now be crafted starting from Season 22.

The Warden’s Law was handpicked by Bungie to join the Season 22 loot pool. For those who missed the announcement, here’s the complete list:

  • Crucible
    • Unending Tempest – Stasis Submachine Gun
  • Strikes
    • Luna Regolith III – Solar Sniper Rifle
  • Gambit
    • Qua Xaphan V – Void Machine Gun
  • Nightfall
    • Warden’s Law – Kinetic Hand Cannon
    • Pre Astyanax IV – Solar Precision Bow
  • Iron Banner
    • The Guiding Sight – Strand Scout Rifle
    • Point of the Stag – Arc Bow
  • Trials of Osiris
    • Igneous Hammer – Solar Hand Cannon
    • Cataphract GL3 – Strand Heavy Grenade Launcher

The Warden’s Law, originally from the Forsaken era, was chosen for its unique qualities. However, it has undergone significant changes in this rework. The firing pattern has shifted from a spread style, where multiple shots are fired simultaneously like a shotgun, to a burst style, where shots are fired consecutively from a single trigger pull.

The Warden’s Law now features a two-round burst, which presents a challenge in landing both shots. To compensate, Bungie has increased its damage output. In a burst, the Warden’s Law can deal up to 90 damage against a player, with 25 damage for a body shot and 45 damage for a critical hit. Additionally, the burst delay has been reduced, resulting in a time-to-kill of 0.93 seconds instead of the standard 1.0 second. For more in-depth information on the rework, refer to Bungie’s official update.

In a recent rewards update, Bungie has made an exciting addition to the loot pool. The exotic scout rifle, Dead Man’s Tale, can now be obtained through the Exotic Mission Rotator during Presage missions. Players also have the option to craft the Dead Man’s Tale. However, due to these new acquisition methods, the weapon will no longer be available from Xûr in Season 22.
