The Gathering’s One Ring Card Valued at $2 Million

Post Malone has made a groundbreaking acquisition by purchasing the exclusive Magic: The Gathering Card, The One Ring from Lord of the Rings, which has been appraised at an astounding $2 million.

The previous owner of The One Ring card had remained anonymous until a social media user named Brook Trafton uploaded a video showcasing a meeting between themselves and Post Malone, where the sale took place.

Although the brief 13-second clip doesn’t reveal much, it captures the moment when the rapper thoroughly assesses the card and decisively says, “Yeah, I’ll take it.” The exact amount Post Malone paid for The One Ring remains undisclosed, but considering that trading card buying and collecting company Dave and Adam’s Card World showed a willingness to pay $2 million, it undoubtedly signifies a life-altering sum.

Trafton’s emotions overflow as she breaks into tears when Post Malone agrees to purchase the card, and the two embrace before capturing the moment with a photograph together. “When I discovered The One Ring, Post Malone was the first person who came to mind,” Trafton shared on Instagram. “I have been playing Magic: The Gathering since childhood, and naturally, it would be incredible to possess this card.

“Yet, for someone like me, being able to sell it is life-altering. I only wished that it would find a new owner who would treasure it as much as I do.”

Although an official sales figure is still pending, it is highly likely that The One Ring has become the highest-selling Magic: The Gathering and trading card of all time, dethroning the previous record held by a $540,000 Black Lotus, as reported by IGN.

Wizards of the Coast announced the Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set in August 2021, and it finally debuted in June 2023. IGN has also unveiled the special One Ring card, which was discovered relatively quickly on June 30.
