Mobile hit ‘What the Golf’ is coming to PlayStation soon

The highly unconventional sports simulation game “What the Golf” is officially making its way to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles later this year. This exciting release will include all the latest updates and has been specifically optimized for Sony consoles, ensuring a seamless gaming experience. Notably, the game now also incorporates haptic-based DualSense support, allowing players to truly immerse themselves in the game by feeling the impact of every swing as they hit a ball, a cat, or even an entire planet towards a hole. (Yes, it’s a bizarre and amusing game.)

“What the Golf” completely defies the traditional golf simulation genre by turning its basic concepts upside down. With an abundance of absurd mini-games inspired by golf and ever-changing rules, the game offers a perfect platform for hilarious multiplayer matchups. Some levels even take players to space, while others transform the golf ball into unexpected objects like an office chair. The sheer absurdity displayed throughout the game has contributed to its immense popularity, captivating players across the board.

Originally launched on Apple Arcade, “What the Golf” quickly gained success and recognition. Now, the game is expanding its reach to the Nintendo Switch console with a major update arriving on August 3rd. This update brings forth an exciting crossover with the popular murder/snitch simulator game, “Among Us.” Players can expect a new overworld and 35 fresh levels, previously available only on Apple Arcade since April. This marks the first time these levels will be accessible on a dedicated gaming console. Additionally, the PC version will also receive some “Among Us” love.

Furthermore, the developer, Triband, has exciting plans for seasonal updates throughout the upcoming year. These updates will introduce new stages and other surprises, coinciding with holidays such as Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day. All versions of the game, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, will have access to these free updates. The journey begins with the Halloween-themed update called “Beware of the Bogeyman,” available from October 23rd to November 5th.
