T-Mobile to replace TIDAL benefit with another music streaming service

By now, all T-Mobile customers who have been enjoying the TIDAL benefit should have received an SMS notifying them that starting September 1, the benefit will be discontinued.

We previously reported on this change, so if you haven’t received the SMS yet, consider this your warning about the loss of your TIDAL benefit. The good news is that eligible customers will receive another benefit to replace it.

Until now, all we knew was that T-Mobile had plans to offer eligible customers a new benefit after September 1. According to a screenshot obtained by The Mobile Report, customers who have gone through the Magenta Complete program and transitioned from the Sprint to T-Mobile billing systems on select plans will be eligible for Pandora Premium.

The screenshot states that starting August 2, “Magenta Complete Customers” on a Plus or Premium plan will receive an SMS informing them that they are now eligible for this new benefit.

The offer must be redeemed by October 31, 2023. Additionally, only customers who are on Sprint or Magenta Complete Plus or Premium rate plans and were previously registered for the retired TIDAL benefit will receive the Pandora Premium On Us perk.

T-Mobile will send redemption codes to all eligible customers, providing them with Pandora Premium for a duration of 1 year. The carrier assures that it will contact customers before the expiration of the 12 months in case any changes are made to the benefit.

Based on the wording, it is unclear whether this will be a permanent benefit for customers who are about to lose their TIDAL On Us subscription. This seems more like an interim solution as T-Mobile aims to swiftly transition all eligible customers from TIDAL to another streaming service.

The fact that T-Mobile mentions its intention to reach out to customers prior to the conclusion of their free 1-year Pandora Premium subscription suggests that this perk may not be guaranteed as a permanent benefit.
