In a remarkable feat, Youtuber Jade has achieved what was once thought to be impossible in the game Hades. Jade has become the first person to complete the game on its toughest setting, without using any mods or seedings. This accomplishment is considered extraordinary due to the immense skill and an overwhelming amount of luck required.
According to a report from PCGamesN, Hades YouTuber Dan Haelian released a video titled “Why no one has beaten the max heat in Hades or probably ever will,” explaining the difficulty of this challenge. It involves activating every “heat” modifier in the game, which increases its difficulty. All enemies gain health, damage, and speed buffs, and even bosses receive the same treatment.
Making the task even more challenging, players lose access to their Mirror Talents, which provide Zagreus with buffs, and only receive one Boon option instead of the usual three. They must sacrifice a Boon at the end of each stage before proceeding to the next level. Additionally, they must play in Hell Mode, where Zagreus is no longer invulnerable after taking damage, and complete each stage within a strict five-minute time limit.
On August 2, 2023, Jade uploaded a video titled “HADES 64 HEAT UNSEEDED UNMODDED (Thought to be IMPOSSIBLE),” showcasing their successful speed run of the challenge, completing it with 36 seconds to spare. In the video description, Jade expressed their thoughts on achieving this seemingly “impossible” feat:
“I am a legend at this video game. After 51 minutes of attempts, I managed to attain luck that is arguably unachievable even after thousands of hours. Never say never, I guess.”
Zagreus relied on The Aspect of Zeus Shield to escape the underworld and defeat Hades. This upgrade enables Zagreus to spin around and damage enemies in his vicinity, while the base shield provides blocking capabilities. Jade also utilized Explosive Return, which causes the shield to explode upon its return. Additionally, they acquired a Zeus upgrade that unleashes lightning bolts on enemies during the spinning attack.
