Apple may host a launch event on September 13 to unveil iPhone 15 series: Details inside

Apple enthusiasts, get ready for the highly anticipated iPhone 15 series. According to renowned tech journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is rumored to hold a launch event for the iPhone 15 series on either September 12 or September 13 of this year. Pre-orders for the new iPhones are expected to begin on September 15, with the official release date set for September 22.

In line with these rumors, carrier partners have reportedly instructed their employees not to take time off on September 13, hinting at a major smartphone announcement on that day.

As usual, Apple will likely send out media invitations about a week before the event. Besides showcasing the iPhone 15 lineup, the September event is expected to unveil updated versions of the Apple Watch, including the Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. Additionally, it will provide more information and launch dates for the latest iOS 17 and other related operating system updates. Apple fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of the tech giant’s latest innovations.

There have been rumors that the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature stacked CMOS image sensors, although Apple has not confirmed this. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro models, scheduled for release in the second half of 2024, are expected to adopt the same technology. This shift could potentially strain Sony’s high-end CIS capacity, giving Will Semi an advantage as they secure more orders for high-end CIS from Chinese smartphone brands.

Previous reports suggest that the standard models of the iPhone 15 may come equipped with the 48MP Sony IMX803 image sensor, a significant upgrade from the current 12MP camera.
