CMF by Nothing Tipped to Have Received BIS Approval for Smartwatch, Earphones in India

Nothing, the company that recently announced the launch of its sub-brand CMF by Nothing, is now gearing up to introduce its affordable devices in India. Recent reports suggest that CMF by Nothing has registered two products in India, namely a smartwatch and headphones, which have received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

An interesting Twitter post by Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414), a well-known tipster, showcases images of the BIS certification site, featuring the two CMF by Nothing products. The wireless earphones, referred to as B163, and the smartwatch, mentioned as D395, have obtained their approvals on July 23 and June 16, respectively.

Prior to this, another tipster, Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings), discovered a power adapter listed as C332 on the BIS certification site, believed to be for the CMF by Nothing smartwatch.

Unfortunately, no detailed specifications or designs of the products have been revealed yet. While Nothing has previously launched its TWS earbuds in India, the forthcoming smartwatch from CMF by Nothing will mark the first product of its kind to be introduced in the country. Notably, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has confirmed that both companies will be managed by separate teams.

In India, Nothing launched the Nothing Ear 2 and Nothing Ear Stick (TWS) earbuds, priced at Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 4,999 respectively. Furthermore, the company recently unveiled the Nothing Phone 2, starting at Rs. 44,999. This smartphone boasts a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, a 4,700mAh battery with 45W PPS wired, 15W Qi wireless, and 5W wireless reverse charging capabilities, as well as a dual rear camera setup highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary lens.
