Following his emotional D-Day concert, BTS member Suga has made a significant announcement about his military enlistment plans. The news was shared by BIGHIT Music, the agency representing BTS, on Weverse. Suga has taken the first step by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. In a statement released by the agency, it was revealed, “Hello, This is BigHit Music. We would like to inform our fans that Suga has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further dates in due course.” The agency also expressed their gratitude and requested continued support for Suga throughout his military service. They emphasized that the company will spare no effort in providing support for their artists.

During his concert, Suga was visibly emotional and shed tears while performing. Subsequently, he took to Weverse for a live session, where he shared his thoughts on the experience. Suga stated, “I am not someone who cries easily, but looking at Snoose, I felt it. The members were there, and my seniors came too. I used to dream of being like my seniors, and now I have become someone’s senior. Those 10 years flew by, and that’s when the tears came.”

Suga hinted that the Seoul concert served as his final performance on stage. However, he expressed hope for a reunion with his fellow BTS members (RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) in 2025. He mentioned, “If I say ‘soon,’ it would feel like a lie. So, let’s see each other again in 2025. Alright? Please wait a bit. 2025, let’s meet again. You did great. Bye!”

For those unaware, under South Korean law, all able-bodied male citizens are required to serve in the military for 18-21 months before the age of 28. However, the BTS members were previously granted exemptions to defer their enlistments until the age of 30, following their receipt of the Order of Cultural Merit in 2018 from then-President Moon Jae-in.
