Lara Dutta continues her foray into the OTT space with her next, Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley. The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial also features Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Wamiqa Gabbi and others. In an interview with Filmfare, Lara, who featured in Don 2, reflected on the Don franchise.
When asked about her thoughts on Ranveer Singh’s casting, the actress said, “Every couple of years it’s important that the baton passes. When Shah Rukh Khan was taking over from Mr. Bachchan, nobody could ever imagine that Amitabh wouldn’t be Don anymore. And Shah Rukh played an awesome Don. I also think Ranveer Singh will play an awesome Don. We should all be real about it the way James Bond changes every couple of years haha.”
She also revealed that she would love to be a part of the Don film series again should a meaty part come along. Lara revealed, “Would I like to be a part of Don3? For sure, if Farhan and Ritesh feel I fit in somewhere and the role is challenging enough, I’d love to be a part of it, anytime!”
In her next, Lara Dutta plays Wilayat Hussain. The series is a murder mystery based on an Agatha Christie novel – The Sittaford Mystery.
