Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan made her OTT debut with Jaane Jaan. The headlines were full of star-studded performances. The list might be small (who would want to clash with a Shah Rukh Khan-led film?) but here are some of the trending Bollywood movies that made waves in September 2023:
Jawan
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan was one of the most talked about movies in the past month. The film directed by Atlee and starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra and others, opened up packed screens. Jaane Jaan
Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaane, an onscreen adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X featured Kareena Kapoor Khan in her first ever OTT role. The actress played a mysterious woman who gets embroiled in a murder investigation. Joining her are actors Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film had some brilliant performances and the chemistry between its lead trio is a major highlight.
The Great Indian Family
The Great Indian Family had all the right elements for a family entertainer. The film starring Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar made some great points against religious differences and bigotry. Thanks to a press tour led by Vicky being his lovable self, the film garnered a lot of headlines.
Haddi
Haddi featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anurag Kashyap and others in a drama about a transgender. The film saw Nawazuddin appear in a bold avatar and it surely had audiences talking.
