The SUV will get a re-designed bumper and a new grille featuring four horizontal louvres with a Silver Shadow finish. The SUV also features air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds. On the sides, the overall silhouette will remain the same but it’s expected to get a newly designed alloy wheel design. The overall dashboard layout will remain the same inside except for a few changes. The SUV will also feature an updated MBUX infotainment system with a permanent low-speed 360-degree camera.
Talking about the powertrain and gearbox, the new GLS is expected to come with two engine options – a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo petrol engine christened as GLS 450 and a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo diesel christened GLS 400d. Both engines will come paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox with a 4-Matic AWD system as standard.
