Apple Vision Pro Launch Stock To Be Limited; May Sell-Out Quickly: Ming-Chi Kuo

The launch of the Apple Vision Pro is just days away, scheduled for February 2. Ahead of the launch, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated that the iPhone maker may not have a large inventory of devices for the sale day.

Kuo reports that Apple intends to ship approximately 60,000 to 80,000 units of the Vision Pro mixed reality headset for the February 2nd launch. Due to the limited stock, Kuo anticipates that the device will “sell out soon after the release.

He adds that this is despite Apple not clearly defining the “product positioning and key applications of Vision Pro.” Plus, the price is not cheap either.

Kuo says that Vision Pro’s “user experience (e.g., giving users the illusion that they can control the user interface with their minds) created by the groundbreaking technology innovations, along with the base of core fans and heavy users, should make it easy to sell out after the release.”

Pre-orders for the headset will begin on January 19th at 5 a.m. PST, and will be available through Apple’s online store and official Apple Stores. The headset is priced at $3,499 (approximately Rs. 2.9 lakh) and comes with 256GB of storage.

Apple first unveiled its Vison Pro “spatial computer” at its WWDC 2023 event last year, but availability will be limited at launch, as it will initially only be available in the United States, with availability in other countries to follow at a later date.

In addition, Apple has stated that the Vision Pro box will include the headset itself, a Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, the cover for the front of the device, a polishing cloth, and a USB-C power adapter and cable.
