After the 2016 topper controversy, which marred the reputation of the Bihar Board, the board has called in toppers to their Patna office for verification to guarantee the integrity of the examination process and prevent any instances of malpractice.

This year, a grand total of 1,694,781 students have registered for the Matric (class 10) exams. Among them, 850,571 candidates (comprising 438,967 girls and 411,604 boys) registered for the Math exam in the morning session, conducted from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. Additionally, 844,210 candidates (consisting of 433,227 girls and 410,983 boys) were registered for the afternoon session, scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

The pass rate for BSEB inter exams stood at 83.70 percent, marking a rise from the previous year’s 80.15 percent. Notably, this was the initial instance since 2018 that the Bihar Board witnessed a pass percentage surpassing 80.5 percent.

This year, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) apprehended 33 individuals impersonating students during the Class 10 exams. The distribution of these impersonators across districts is as follows:

In 2023, the Bihar Board, similar to other boards, witnessed greater participation from male students compared to female students. Out of the over 13 lakh students who appeared for the BSEB Class 12 exams, 6,36,432 were girls, and 6,81,795 were boys. This trend contrasts with the 2021 class 12 exams, where out of a total of 13,50,233 registered students, 6,46,540 were females, and the remaining 7,03,693 were male candidates.
